As mentioned in my about section, I love short stories. It’s my favorite genre in literature, especially the Fairy Tales. I don’t know a whole lot about them, but I do enjoy learning a little bit more about them each day. I enjoy reading the Grimm Brothers’ or Hans Christian Anderson’s stories and I love to find the ways in which they can relate so perfectly with our every day lives. In one of my favorite books, A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness, he writes, “Stories are wild creatures, the monster said. When you let them loose, who knows what havoc they might wreak?”
Stories are really important for us, they amplify our knowledge and enhance our imagination. These stories are classical and historical. They are not just some sort of fantastical nonsense written by crazy people many years ago. On the contrary, ever since these stories were passed orally, they were works of fiction that brought forth the reality of their every day lives from a fantastical point of view. So no matter how gruesome, or humorous, or cruel, or delightful, these are classics that relate to us in many more ways than we can imagine.
That’s why every time I get the opportunity to read a short story, I find some sort of relationship with our present lives and like to share them with the readers. So these fairy tale influenced posts will be found in this section. Hope you enjoy.
